Shooting trip 2012

Every year or so we get together as brothers and take some time to bond, and shoot.  Taylor was missing this year because of his deployment, we salute you Tay.  The other brothers who are married and in UT were also unnable to attend.  Anyway, here are a few captures from the event.  The semi-auto shotgun was new and was a hit, tons of fun to shoot.

Not much can be said about this place. You just have to be there to feel the majesty and vastness. Life survives despite the drought and baking sun.

The hunt

Here are a couple of shots from our hunt this year. We were unsuccessful in securing a coveted coues whitetail deer, "the grey ghost". We had some rough weather out in the desert of southern Arizona but it was a great time. This was not a photography trip by any means but I managed to get a couple of good shots.

Day 1: We had to tie the tent to the truck to keep it from blowing over. Needless to say the truck didn't help once the rain was pouring down.
The wind also required us to improvise in able to have a hot meal. Do not try this at home.

Just before we left we took this shot, the terrain was full of cactus and rock, hardly any shade and even less deer.

Hunting Unit

A friend and I went to our hunt area for the upcoming season. We saw quite a few bucks and does. Here are a few landscape shots from the AZ Mexico border. Much greener than I anticipated.
